Oxythrips japonicus Masumoto & Okajima, 2017
This species has been recorded from Honshu, Amami Is. and Okinawa Is., but probably it is widely distributed in Japan. It breeds on the flowers of Pinus spp. and the adults occur from mid-April to early May. Oxythrips is very similar to Anaphothrips but it can be distinguished from the latter genus by having the pronotum with a pair of posteroangular setae. From Paroxythrips it can be distinguished by having the abdominal tergites and sternites with broad posteromarginal craspeda.
